Funny Thoughts

Today, I've had some strange thoughts. I know that I usually prefer to use this blog to note deep thoughts, but tonight I thought I would just share some brief thoughts I had today. If you would like to use them for an illustration that could lead to some deep thought provoking conversation -- go for it!

1. I am driving through a flock of birds. I wonder what that looks like?
2. If I had more money I would put the hand-me-down clothes my sister gave me in the dryer.
3. Can I even think of any funny or strange thoughts?

Palm Sunday School Lesson for Teenagers

Scripture: Luke 22:17-20 Topic: When Jesus ate with his Disciples Background: This lesson would be taught during a Sunday morning breakfast club for teenagers. Once a month the youth meet to cook breakfast and then we try to relate the lesson to food. Last time the Middle School breakfast club met a middle school student led his peers in a devotional that went through the various stories of Jesus sharing food with his disciples. This Sunday we are going to focus on one of those stories and how it relates to Easter. Opening: 1. Ask, “Have you ever helped plan a party?” a. Ask the students to share about the various things they did to prepare (send invites, decorate, blow up balloons, set the table, plan games, order food). 2. Kingdom Community

Lately I've been thinking about the community of God. It really is rich! Where else can such a diverse group of people hold together with one commonly held belief? Sure the church is a very segrated building, but the Church, with a capital C, is very diverse. Nearly every clique, ethnic group, language, personality, and mind is represented in the church body. Yes, we have conflict. But we have a diversity of feelings, thoughts, and perspectives. We are all ages. We are all continents. We are at all levels of development. Yet, we believe as one that God is a personal God and that Jesus is the Christ, the promised Messiah, the son of God sent to earth, crucified and resurrected. And we accept this as the truth by which we live.
