Undercover Philanthropist = Dream Job

Okay, I've always dreamed of being a transformational speaker, but now I think I've added another dream job to my list. (or perhaps I'm just on a momentary soap box.)

Wouldn't it be great, if I secretly became a multi-millionaire or billionaire and then volunteered my time with various non-profit groups for a significant amount of time (maybe 1 or 2 years.) Then after getting to see the insdie scoop of the non-profit, I'd make a decision if I wanted to give it several hundred thousand dollars or however much would be significant to start a fund that would generate enough interest to help the non-profit survive. A month or two prior to making this annoymous donation, I would quit volunteering and move on to another non-profit to serve and perhaps later financially support.

Palm Sunday School Lesson for Teenagers

Scripture: Luke 22:17-20 Topic: When Jesus ate with his Disciples Background: This lesson would be taught during a Sunday morning breakfast club for teenagers. Once a month the youth meet to cook breakfast and then we try to relate the lesson to food. Last time the Middle School breakfast club met a middle school student led his peers in a devotional that went through the various stories of Jesus sharing food with his disciples. This Sunday we are going to focus on one of those stories and how it relates to Easter. Opening: 1. Ask, “Have you ever helped plan a party?” a. Kingdom Community

Lately I've been thinking about the community of God. It really is rich! Where else can such a diverse group of people hold together with one commonly held belief? Sure the church is a very segrated building, but the Church, with a capital C, is very diverse. Nearly every clique, ethnic group, language, personality, and mind is represented in the church body. Yes, we have conflict. But we have a diversity of feelings, thoughts, and perspectives. We are all ages. We are all continents. We are at all levels of development. Yet, we believe as one that God is a personal God and that Jesus is the Christ, the promised Messiah, the son of God sent to earth, crucified and resurrected. And we accept this as the truth by which we live.
